As we age, our bodies undergo many changes, and one fascinating area of research focuses on “senescent cells.” Imagine cells that have decided to retire: they stop dividing, but they don’t just disappear. Instead, they stick around and can even release a cocktail of inflammatory molecules, a process often called the “senescence-associated secretory phenotype” or SASP.
